Electrolysis is the most effective modern method of permanently removing individual hairs from the face and body. It is the only permanent method of hair removal that is approved by the FDA.
Developed in 1875 electrolysis is the science of permanent hair removal. Utilizing advanced technology an electrologist inserts a very fine probe into the natural opening of the hair. A small amount of current is applied to the base of the follicle. This process destroys the hair growth structure and tissue.
The number of treatments necessary varies with each client. Treatment sessions can range from 15 minutes to an hour or more depending on the area being treated. Factors such as hair growth cycles, the quantity and structure of hair presented, previous use of temporary hair removal methods, heredity, hormone function, certain medications, and stress influence the treatment plan for each individual.
There is some discomfort with the treatment. This varies with the pain tolerance level of each individual person. Numbing agents and over the counter pain medications can help.
Slight redness after treatment is normal, and lasts a few hours.
Many clients actually report improved skin, as permanent hair removal often clears acne and ingrown hairs.
